hi, i'm christy. Welcome to Mind the gut.

Not sure where to start with your healing journey? My free guide covers every doctor, practitioner and healer I've seen - the holistic and the medical.

"For the first time since my diagnosis, I felt genuinely understood and less alone."

About

I'm Christy, a working Mum of two in my late 30s, living in the UK. In January of 2025 I realised I had been quietly battling a chronic condition without knowing it, gradually increasing in severity for a couple of years. By this point symptoms were loud enough that I could no longer dismiss them.I had mild Gastritis for which I was given a long term prescription of PPIs, and Functional Dyspepsia, the latter I was told I would "just have to live with". Within 2 months my BMI had dropped by 22% to under 7 stone. Underweight, unsupported and dismissed by medical professionals, I researched both conditions extensively and sought my own path back to health; off meds, through dietary changes, lifestyle shifts and holistic practices.I have healed Gastritis, and live with Functional Dyspepsia and IBS. My FD flares, once debilitating, are now fewer and further apart, and no longer run my life. I've got 'me' back.Mind the Gut is a place for hope. Most forums around Gastritis and FD are entirely negative and bleak. The gut heals best when aligned with nervous system healing. One of the things that heals the nervous system, is joy. Hope. Optimism.Mind the Gut exists because this time last year I was desperately searching for someone who would make me feel seen. Someone who had been there. Someone who understood why it's so frustrating when someone says "you're looking well", when you feel anything but. An invisible illness. If you're in that place right now, I want you to know you're not alone, and you don't have to figure it out by yourself. Come say hi. I'd love to hear your story.

Living with a chronic digestive condition can feel incredibly isolating, especially when the people closest to you can't fully understand what you're going through. My 1:1 peer support calls offer an hour of genuine connection with someone who has navigated Gastritis, Functional Dyspepsia, IBS, nervous system dysregulation and the mental load that comes with it. We'll talk about your experience, what you've tried, my journey and what has helped me get to a good place - in a safe, non-judgemental space. I'm not a medical professional, and these calls aren't therapy, but sometimes speaking to someone who has been there is just what's needed. To heal we need to feel seen. Heard. Held.

"I recently had a 1 to 1 call with Christy, and from the moment we started, I felt completely at ease. She answered each question with genuine care, empathy and interest - from diagnosis and medication to nutrition, holistic approaches, and navigating life with FD. What I found especially valuable was Christy's willingness to share her own personal experience. Hearing what worked for her, what she would have done differently, and how she continues to move forward gave me both perspective and hope. This was the most supported I've felt since receiving my FD diagnosis - for the first time, I felt genuinely understood and less alone."

Early in 2025 in the depths of my suffering, I was longing to connect with others who, like me were suffering with a chronic gut condition, actively looking to heal. Through Mind the Gut I have now connected with hundreds of people in that exact position. I will be hosting a monthly Zoom Community call to bring people together, with the caveat that whilst it's a space to share our suffering, the idea is to keep it a hopeful and optimistic space (unlike many existing forums).
